cousin: SLS & SLES

i hate this... my favourite wearing only once shampoo containing SLES. for your information, SLES stands for Sodium Laureth Sulfate. oh, wait - it also contains SLS, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. orite, why i'm so ga-ga over this is, both are (cousins) chemicals that can cause cancer - especially when you wear it on your head, specifically, scalp. As from the scalp the chemicals can absorbed into our blood system. i only realize that my shampoo contained these two chemicals after my bath, this wee hours. can't say that i'm regret over it since i'm too obsessed with Clairol's Herbal Essences. is that why i don't see that shampoo for a looong period - by the way, i bought it in labuan. i bought it like a long-time-no-see-pal. i didn't check on the labels, but i managed to read the flavour, yeah, weird.

the question is, if it's cancerous, why don't they ban these types of product letting the consumers using it. i'm telling you, it's not the only items that contains SLES & SLS. even once source mention that about 65% of detergents, shampoos in the market contain SLES & SLS. both chemicals allowed the detergents, shampoos to foam. other product that i known containing these chemicals are Clear's, Palmolive's (even the shower foam!), Feather's... i guess that's what in my mind. to make sure how to see if the product contains SLES or/and SLS, check on the back labels, look for 'Sodium Laureth Sulfate' for SLES and 'Sodium Lauryl Sulfate' for SLS.
